Saladworks Shooting for September Opening in Boulder Run

The health-centric national franchise will occupy the space vacated by Blockbuster video.

Saladworks, a national franchise serving quick made-to-order entrée-sized salads, is eyeing a September opening in the Wyckoff storefront vacated by Blockbuster two years ago.

The franchise, founded by a former South Jersey country club chef, has over 100 franchises nationwide. A separate franchisee announced plans to open six North Jersey locations last year.

Nirav Papeo, a first time franchisee, told Patch that he scoped out the Boulder Run location because he believes the shopping center’s foot traffic will bring in a local "health conscious" demographic.

“The quality of the product is awesome. It’s fresh every day,” he said of the menu, which he noted will include salad topping meat grilled to order, a feature the company is adding in its newer locations.

Renovations to the building started two weeks, ago, and Papeo said that he expects to hire around 18 employees before the doors open.

He said that, without any unforeseen complications, the construction will last roughly a month and a half.

“We’re targeting the second week of September, and I think we’re still on track for that.”
