Real Housewife's Advice Book Advocates Rape, Critic Says

Reality personality Melissa Gorga is getting bad press following the release of her  book, which at least one critic says advocates marital rape.

The Real Housewife’s book “Love Italian Style” alleges to “shows you how to love your man and keep him happy, satisfied, faithful, and devoted to you.” But critic Tracie Egan Morrissey says the Gorga’s philosophy boils down to this sentence: "Husbands want their wives to submit; wives want our husbands to dominate."

Morrissey has a thorough take-down of the St. Martin's Press book over on Jezebel. In the piece, she quotes from Gorga’s advice book:

“Men, I know you think your woman isn't the type who wants to be taken. But trust me, she is. Every girl wants to get her hair pulled once in a while. If your wife says ‘no,’ turn her around, and rip her clothes off. She wants to be dominated. Women don't realize how easy men are. Just give us what we want.”

Morrissey says that’s rape and it is insane that it got past the publisher.”
