Ramapo Student Competing For Spot in Z100 Concert

Ali Brustofski has made it to the top five out of hundreds of competitors.

 senior Ali Brustofski has beaten out hundreds of other hopeful musicians and made it to the final five contestants in popular local radio station Z100's "Hometown Hero" contest.

If she wins, Brustofski will get to perform at this year's Jingle Ball concert along with world-famous artists Lady Gaga, Kelly Clarkson and Gym Class Heroes, among others. Brustofski will also get to shoot her own music video.

"Being able to perform alongside such amazing artists in front of my biggest crowd yet would honestly be the experience of a lifetime," Brustofski said.

In order to win, Brustofski will need to get more votes than the other four remaining contestants by December 1. Click here to vote for her. Already, she has beat out more than 300 other competitors, first by popular vote that narrowed it down to 25 and then by a panel of judges who further cut the group down to five.

"It's almost unreal that I've made it this far in the competition," Brustofski said. "I can't describe how grateful I am to have such amazing support from people all over the world."

While winning the competition would be a big step for Brustofski, she is already a seasoned performer. At age 10 she performed in "The Sound of Music" with a young Nick Jonas and in 2003 she performed the voice of Piper O’Possum on Nickelodeon and more recently her song "Rewind" was featured on the show "iCarly."
