Powerhouse Concert is 'Thank You' for Hurricane Helpers

Atlantic Records' Morgan Paul and Friends performing at the West Main Street church on Friday at 7 p.m.

A local church that played an instrumental part in the days following Hurricane Sandy is hosting a concert to thank the first responders from that crisis.

Powerhouse Christian Church is bringing Atlantic Records' Morgan Paul and Friends to the West Main Street church on Friday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m.

Morgan is influenced by Bob Seger, Billy Joel, Pink Floyd, Santana, Genesis and Deep Purple, according to his Facebook page .

"The evening is designed to say thank you to all of our first responders, law enforcement, CERT members, DPW, township officials and community [members] who responded during Hurricane Sandy and it's aftermath," said Powerhouse Director of Operations Brian Hendrickson.

Hendrickson said he hopes the concert also brings attention to ongoing relief and rebuilding efforts for Hurricane Sandy victims and local food pantries.

The event is free, but Hendrickson and Powerhouse are welcoming donations of canned goods, baby food, diapers, paper towels and cleaning supplies.

For more info you can email Hendrickson  or visit the Powerhouse Christian Church website .
