Yiddish Drama on Screen at Temple Emanuel

Check out this classic film on Sunday, Jan. 20, at 2 p.m.

In one of the last films produced in Poland before the Nazi-Soviet invasion, Yiddish actors Edmund Zeyenda, Max Bozyk, and Lucy Gehrmam portray the story of a mother and her three children struggling to survive through poverty and war in pre- World War II Polish Ukraine and make their way to New York.

The one-hour and 45-minute film, “A Brivele Der Mamen,” in Yiddish with English subtitles, will be featured in a free public screening at Temple Emanuel of North Jersey on Sunday, Jan. 20, at 2 p.m.
