Drug Addiction Behind Jonas Bros. Meltdown, Sources Say

One Jonas Brother’s drug addiction may be contributing to the band’s slow motion collapse, several sources are claiming, following the cancellation last week of their US tour and rumors the mega-popular trio were close to calling it quits.

After the band axed their tour, TMZ twice spotted Joe Jonas with noted “addiction specialist, crisis consultant and interventionist” Mike Bayer.

The bros and their reps have been predictably silent on addiction rumors, as well as exactly why the @JonasBrothers twitter account—which boasted more than 5 million followers—has been deleted.

One source told Star that Joe Jonas has been “dealing with substance abuse problems for quite some time.”

“The tour would have never survived with how Joe was behaving,” the source said.

Last week the brothers Jonas canceled the entirety of their 19-stop tour and the internet began speculating they were on the verge of a breakup.

A rep told media that there’d been a “deep rift within the band” about “their music direction,” but didn’t elaborate further at the time.
