Vote for Ramapo UP student competing in the semifinals of the Talent Show.

After four rounds of preliminary competition—and hundreds of thousands of audience votes—16 of the tri-state area’s most talented high school performers competited in the semifinal round of MSG Varsity’s Talent Show, on Sunday.

Ramapo student Ali Brustofski faced off against Samm Sclafani from Commack High School in the female vocalist competition. Brustofski, a University Programs student, was first on the show April 24 and won that round of competition to move on to this weekend's semifinals. Vote for Ali to move to the finals at www.msgvarsitytalentshow.com.

MSG Varsity’s Talent Show, hosted by former “American Idol” semifinalist Jared Cotter, debuted on April 17 with 32 talented singers, dancers and musical groups from high schools across the tri-state area competing in four categories — male vocalists, female vocalists, vocal ensemble and dance ensemble. Over the first four weeks of the series, two contestants in each of the four categories performed in hopes of advancing to the semifinal round, with the winner determined by online voting by the viewing audience at www.msgvarsitytalentshow.com.

That format will continue through the semifinal round, as the audience will once again have the opportunity to cast their votes for their favorite talent in each category with the top performers advancing to the finals. Viewers will once again vote online at www.msgvarsitytalentshow.com, and the “Talent Show Champion” in each category will be announced on MSG Varsity on Sunday, June 12.

In addition to being crowned “Talent Show Champion,” each winner will receive a once-in-a-lifetime, two-day professional studio session  to work with award-winning producers to record a demo CD or video and create custom-designed cover art. The Champions will also be treated like a star with a professional photo shoot that includes hair and make-up styling.
