Young anglers 14 and younger are invited to join the fun on Saturday, June 7 rain orshine for Wyckoff’s 32nd Annual Fishing Derby sponsored by the Wyckoff Environmental Commission.

The Wyckoff Fishing Derby is a catch and release event. In an effort to cause the least distress to the fish, please use barbless hooks. A barbless hookis one that does not have downward points (barbs) on the “J” shape of the hook.

Zabriskie Pond Park provides a great venue to learn about the outdoors and the environment. The Fishing Derby brings out nearly 200 anglers along with their parents or grandparents for a morning of fun and fishing.

Registration begins at 8:45 a.m. and the fishing starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 10:15 a.m. Prizes will be awarded in three age categories around 10:30 a.m. Members of the Environmental Commission will be on hand to measure your catch.

Zabriskie Pond Park, located between Franklin and Clinton Avenues, will once again be the site for this fun event. For further information about the Fishing Derby call 201-891- 7000 ext. 101 or visit www.wyckoff-nj.com home page.

The Fishing Derby is a great way to enjoy the outdoors while learning about fish and waterways. Remember everyone needs to keep our waterways clean by not littering.
