Wyckoff Residents: How And Where To Recycle Electronic Waste
Information for Wyckoff residents on how to dispose of electronic garbage.
The Township of Wyckoff has announced a reminder that residents must bring their electronic waste to the Wyckoff Recycling Center located at 476 West Main Street.
As of 1/1/2011, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has mandated a state-wide law, known as the Electronic Waste Management Act (NJSA 13:1E-99.94), which requires "used, covered electronic device", or any of its components or sub-assemblies, to be disposed as electronic waste. "Used, covered electronic device" is defined by the law as a portable desktop or personal computer, computer monitor, or television.
The Township of Wyckoff provides a convenient opportunity for residents to recycle used, covered electronic devices at no cost to the resident or the township at the Recycling Center.

Besides the environmental benefits, recycling electronic waste also assists the Township with its “Nifty-Fifty” goal of re-directing certain solid waste such as computers and electronics into recycling markets and away from costly solid waste landfills. A 50% residential recycling rate will save Wyckoff taxpayers $85,000 to $100,000 as well as protecting our environment. Help Wyckoff achieve the “Nifty-Fifty” goal, stop by Town Hall to pick up a sticker for your trash container.
The Recycling Center has the following hours:
September through April: Monday-Saturday, 9am to 3pm
May through August: Monday, Wednesday-Saturday, 9am to 3pm
Tuesday, 11am to 3pm and 6pm to 8pm
A comprehensive list of items and how you can dispose of them can be found at www.wyckoff-nj.com under Recycling and Trash. If you register your e-mail address at the “site-registration” on the home page, updates regarding trash and recycling collection will be e-mailed to you when they are posted.
