Christian Health Care Center (CHCC), Wyckoff Municipal Alliance, and the Wyckoff Health Department are sponsoring a special presentation on addiction and recovery, “The Road to Recovery: Stories of Addiction,” from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, May 15, in the Christian Health Care Center Auditorium at 700 Mountain Ave., Wyckoff.

Alumnae of Spring House, Bergen County’s halfway house for women recovering from alcohol and drug abuse, will share their stories of addiction and road to recovery. Following the presentation, experts from Spring House and Christian Health Care Counseling Center will be available to answer questions.

Representatives from the Center for Alcohol and Drug Resources, and Balance and Thrive Therapy Center will also be present. The program may not be appropriate for children under 12 years of age. Light refreshments will be served.

“Bringing the subject of addiction out into the open is the only way for people affected by drug and alcohol addiction to find a road to recovery,” said Carol Hertenstein, RN, CHCC’s Utilization Review Director and Wyckoff Board of Health President.

“Addiction impacts so many people, not just the individual. This powerful presentation will shed light onto a topic that we may not fully understand. The program will also highlight resources in getting help for the addict, and coping with an addict’s behavior and their road to recovery.”
