Reader Photos: Beijing Students Visit Wyckoff Firehouse

Chinese high school students on an exchange program to the United States made a local stop on their American tour Saturday, visiting with firemen at the Sicomac Firehouse.

The 16 students of the Beijing New Talent Academy were treated to a taste of American BBQ at the home of Wyckoff resident Nancy Hurtz-Soyka, assistant director of the American Language Center at Bloomfield College, where the students are studying English this summer.

Their visit to Wyckoff continued when fire chief Lou Graglia invited the students to the firehouse for a tour of the facility - and to try on some firefighting gear - and Nancy shared the photos from the day with Patch.

Other legs of the students' visit to the States will include Boston, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, and New York City.
