Christian Health Care Center Residents Enjoy Special Concert

Linwood Peel, a member of The Drifters, a popular doo-wop and rhythm and blues/soul vocal group from the 1950s, recently visited residents, staff, and family members at Christian Health Care Center (CHCC) in Wyckoff for a sing-along concert. Mr. Peel performed many resident favorites, including “Under The Boardwalk” and “Up On The Roof.” Attendees enjoyed singing along to songs performed by Mr. Peel, who encouraged the audience to join him on stage. The concert gave staff and clients from Pathways, residents from Heritage Manor Nursing Home and Southgate behavior-management unit, and patients from The David F. Bolger Post-acute Care Unit, an opportunity to connect with each other in the upbeat and cheerful environment during the activity.

Suzanne Gramuglia, ADC, Heritage Manor/Southgate Activities Director, said, “Everyone enjoyed singing along to the music, and Linwood had clients from Pathways up on the stage smiling and having fun! It was a great program.”

CHCC offers various activities to educate, stimulate, and entertain residents. In addition to concerts, trips to nearby shopping malls, nature walks, games, contests, and informative lectures are also regularly scheduled. Themed events, barbeques, and birthday parties help to foster friendship between residents. Activities not only improve the quality of life for residents, but also keep them engaged and connected with the community.
