Christian Health Care Center Resident's Art Work Featured on Calendar

Barbara Koffel, a resident of Heritage Manor Nursing Home at Christian Health Care Center (CHCC) in Wyckoff, submitted a painting to a Works of Heart contest sponsored by The Health Care Association of New Jersey (HCANJ), a non-profit trade association representing long-term care providers. Works of Heart is a program designed to shine a spotlight on artists who reside in long-term care facilities in New Jersey.  Mrs. Koffel’s art was chosen to be included in the 2014 Works of Heart wall calendar, which was distributed to the artists, HCANJ member long-term care facilities, every New Jersey legislator, and our congressional delegation in Washington, DC. The calendar also served as the program booklet for HCANJ’s Annual Awards Program Ceremony during its 65th Annual Convention & Expo in Atlantic City last fall. The original works of art were also on display at the convention.

            “What a special honor for Barbara and a terrific testament to the art program at Heritage Manor that enhances the live of our residents,” said Denise Ratcliffe, LNHA, CHCC Executive Vice President and COO.

Michael Abbey, RN, BSN, Nursing Supervisor at CHCC, recently was named Nurse of the Year by HCANJ. Mr. Abbey was nominated for making outstanding contributions to the nursing profession and to the field of health care. He was presented with his award at the convention.
