Christian Health Care Center Employee Honored as a Legend

Lincoln Park resident Ellen De Bel, RN, Director of Health Services at The Longview Assisted Living Residence at Christian Health Care Center (CHCC) was recently honored as a Legend Quarterly All Star by CHCC in Wyckoff. Staff of CHCC is invited to nominate co-workers as Legends as part of the Center’s service-excellence initiative. A Legend is someone who exemplifies the mission and values of CHCC in an outstanding and easily recognizable manner, who contributes exemplary service for the benefit of those served at CHCC and beyond, or who demonstrates behavior above and beyond expectations. Mrs. DeBel was nominated by Laurie Hammet, RN, The Courtyard at The Longview Health Services Coordinator. The Courtyard is a specialized unit for residents with memory impairment.

Mrs. DeBel is a great example of a Legend! She has been a dedicated nurse and has provided services to CHCC for more than 30 years. She has developed relationships with staff, residents, and patients in almost every CHCC program. She goes out of her way to acknowledge special occasions, birthdays, and other achievements with cards and special treats. You can find her if you need her early in the mornings and late in the evenings helping out staff whenever and wherever she is needed.

“Ellen is a true role model, handling each and every bump in the road with grace, confidence, and good humor,” said Ms. Hammet. “It is evident that Ellen enjoys spending time with residents. She is a true professional, showing compassion and sensitivity.  Residents and family members love her because she genuinely cares for them, as she would her own family. She is an inspiration to others, and a steady and true advocate for the independence and choice that assisted living offers our residents.”
