Community Update

Bergen Volunteer
Medical Initiative (BVMI) is looking for currently licensed Registered Nurses
to volunteer  for a four hour shift (9:00
– 1:00 pm or 1:00 – 5:00 pm Monday –Friday or 3:00 – 7:00 pm on Thursday).  Nurse volunteers will be able to choose their
schedule and can volunteer as much or as little as they want.  Nurses will be using their one-to-one skills
in a positive, stress-free, efficient setting supported by BVMI’s outstanding
administrative staff. 



Bergen Volunteer
Medical Initiative is a volunteer nonprofit organization providing free primary
healthcare to low-income working adults in Bergen County without insurance or
the means to pay for care.  BVMI is
guided by the “Culture of Caring” and believes that how people are treated is
as important as the care they receive. 
Last year 65 volunteer physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, social
workers, nutritionists and others treated 1,000 patients in over 6,000 medical
visits.
