It’s one word that can make people cringe, angry and sad all at the same time, a rare occurrence indeed. Your personal finances are no different. A great first step toward establishing a solid personal financial plan is to organize your personal financial information. With that in mind, let’s look at a few budget friendly tips to help clean out your personal finances in budget friendly manner.
1) Make sure you and everyone else are on the same page – leaving the budgeting and money items to one person may be tempting, but this can lead to misunderstandings.
2) Review all of your insurance policies – updating beneficiaries and making sure you are not paying too much in premiums are two simple steps that can make a big difference.
3) Take an inventory of your possessions – with events like Super Storm Sandy looking more and more likely to occur on a regular basis, it might be good time to make sure you are covered for all of your possessions.
Cleaning out your house, yard, and personal finances go hand-in-hand.
