Wyckoff's Nick Jonas Performs At White House In Tribute To Motown

Plays in tribute to Motown night after surprise appearance at Virginia coffeehouse.

Wyckoff native Nick Jonas joined a lineup of other stars Thursday in a White House tribute to the Motown Sound.

The event, hosted by President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, featured music by Smokey Robinson, Sheryl Crow, Jamie Foxx, John Legend and Seal, among others.

Jonas sent a tweet to his 2 million Twitter followers around 2 p.m. on Wednesday, letting them know he would be playing a free show at Jammin' Java in Vienna. By 2:30 p.m., his fans had converged on the venue.

Nick Jonas and his brothers Kevin and Joe grew up on Franklin Avenue.
