Poll: How Do You Feel About the Proposed ShopRite?

Hearings for the application will continue at a special planning board meeting Thursday.

After several delays from health problems and religious holidays, hearings for Inserra Supermarkets' proposed 62,042-square-foot ShopRite at the site of the former A&P on Wyckoff and Greenwood Avenues are scheduled to continue Thursday at a special meeting of the Wyckoff Planning Board.

Currently, the former supermarket and strip mall on the site, which are both unoccupied, total 69,260 square feet.

have said that the store would bring more jobs to town, and some residents have said they would welcome a local alternative to Stop & Shop.

However, other residents have said they are concerned that the store could cause too much traffic and noise for downtown Wyckoff. said he did not think the additional traffic would be enough to require a new traffic light.
