Local Business Offers to Run Your Errands

The owners of 'Errands, Etc.' say they'll do just about anything for their customers.

Is there not enough time in the day for everything you need to do? A local business is offering to take care of the little things you don't have the time or ability to do yourself.

Errands, Etc. was started by Westwood residents George and Diana Bedoya in 2010 after their previous business, which conducted energy efficiency assessments, fell victim to the bad economy. George was working for a local taxi company where he met many people who needed help with little things like picking up prescriptions, giving him the idea to start the new business. Word quickly spread about the Bedoyas' quick turnaround and attention to customer service.

"One brick at a time," George Bedoya said, describing the growth of Errands, Etc. "It's the best way to do it — with a solid foundation."

The company grew beyond the borders of Westwood and the couple's circle of friends and happy customers, thanks to word of mouth and social networking. A good reputation is key for their business, George Bedoya said.

Now, Errands, Etc. is expanding their business and focusing on the area around Wyckoff and Franklin Lakes, with a total of six additional errand-runners and new territory manager Josh Horn, an Oakland resident who joined the company last year.

The company doesn't keep a list of the errands they will run because it would be too long, Diana Bedoya said. Some of the common errands include running to pick up a prescription or installing a flat-screen TV. The Bedoyas have continued adding new services to their repertoire, with recent additions including delivering emergency supplies before storms and painting standard NCAA basketball keys. Errands have brought George Bedoya out as far as Connecticut to make a delivery.

"There's just too many services to list," Diana Bedoya said. "There's no borders for what we do."
