Teen Threatened Teen with Ice Pick, Cops Say

An Oakland teenager was charged with threatening another juvenile with an ice pick during a fight in the Boulder Run parking lot Sunday night, according to Wyckoff Police.

Cops received a call just after 10 p.m. Sunday saying that someone was threatening another person with a knife at the shopping center on Franklin Avenue, according to Wyckoff Police Chief Benjamin Fox. 

Wyckoff Resident Makes Athletics Honor Roll at Lynchburg

Wyckoff resident and equestrian Jordan Rooney was recently honored for making the Director of Athletics Honor Roll at Lynchburg College for the 2011-12 academic year.

"As you can image as parents my wife Hayley and I are very proud of our daughter Jordan for achieving the honor of making not only the dean's list at Lynchburg College for all four years with a 3.93 GPA, but also the athletic honor role," said Committeeman Kevin Rooney, Jordan's father.

PSEG Utility Work Forces Closure of Cedar Hill, Ravine Avenues

Township officials announced at a public meeting Tuesday night that PSEG utility work will stymie traffic in the township throughout much of August — first on a half-mile stretch of Cedar Hill Avenue then on Ravine Avenue.

The utility company, which has been replacing gas lines throughout Wyckoff over the summer, has advised the township that through August 17 Cedar Hill Avenue between Wyckoff Avenue and Newtown Road would be closed.
