Mayor's Message 12/17/10

Mayor's Message - December 17, 2010

Dear Friends,

With the sudden cold, the special efforts of our employees and volunteers are particularly noticed and appreciated.  Thank you to the Franklin Lakes Police Department for their continued service to others through the PBA's annual coat drive.  Gently used coats can still be dropped off at Police Headquarters.  Last week's wind and rain may have kept the Fire Department's special guest from riding around town, but Santa did meet with many happy young residents indoors at the Bender Court Firehouse.  A special thank you, too, to the Franklin Lakes Library.  Their first year running the Holiday Tree Lighting ceremony was a great success enjoyed by many residents of all ages.  The FAMS Chorus and Indian Hills High School Ensemble entertained us, while we enjoyed treats from the Market Basket and goodie bags from Access Storage and Vanderplaat Funeral Home.  Special thanks to Gerry McMahon, Library Director and Brian Peterson, DPW Superintendent for coordinating this effort.  Community spirit warms us in Franklin Lakes!

As always, feel free to contact me atmayor@franklinlakes.org or Nancy Yarish at 201-891-0048 x1204 or nyarish@franklinlakes.org.

Enjoy your weekend.
Maura
