Le Danse Alumni Returns for Summer Session
July 2012 – Le Danse, located in the Wayne community for 28 years just held a successful summer session of dance classes. This year, we had an added highlight to our summer program. Le Danse alumni returned to the studio for an adult tap session. These Wayne adults who
studied under the studio’s directors, Diane Raimo & Patty
De Dio since they were young children, connected again
through Le Danse’s Face Book page & reunited for a 5-week fun-filled nostalgic tap class. It was bittersweet
as well as empowering to see these young adults back together again. As an added touch to this reunion
celebration, the parents of these young ladies came to the studio on their last class to reminisce all of the years that they were together. It was quite an emotional night, parents and students reuniting with each other, just like the “old days.” Cameras were flashing, applause was soaring & some parents shed a tear as they watched their adult daughters dancing together. It was like taking a step back in time. So much fun was had by all during the 5-week session. Le Danse is known for the long-term friendships that are created in the dance studio and
having these adults back together again is just another reason why dance is so important in a young child’s life. The relationships that we make in dance class remain long after the dance classes are completed. The studio is located at 580 Valley Road, Wayne, NJ. In addition to our alumni class, this past June, the studio’s competition
teams participated in a week-long dance intensive which incorporated various subjects including tap, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, ballet & musical theater taught by various instructors. The week concluded with a day of classes at Steps Studios on Broadway. This was a great experience for the students whose ages ranged from 9-16 years old. Le Danse arranged for private group classes
in ballet, lyrical and jazz just for the competition team. The girls experienced the excitement of a New York City dance studio with professional instructors.
This was a great day of fun in addition to a great day of dance education. Our recreational students
also participated in a 5-week summer dance program for ages 3 through adult. Classes included preschool programs for ages 3-4, children’s workshops for ages 5-7 and classes in jazz, ballet, lyrical, gymnastics & hip hop for ages 8 & up, in addition to adult classes in Zumba style workout & tap. Students had the opportunity to experience a variety dance subjects in a relaxed atmosphere in addition to improving their existing dance skills for the upcoming fall season. We are extremely
proud of all of our students who participated in our summer programs. Preschool students were so excited at their last class as their parents viewed their progress over the last 5 weeks & Children’s Workshops classes celebrated their last class with a dance party. Le Danse is very proud of its successful programs throughout the 28 years that the studio has been in the Wayne community. Thank you to all who attended this year’s summer session at Le Danse.
