Indian Hills Principal Elected to Headmaster's Association

Albert Evangelista, principal of Indian Hills High School, has been elected to membership in the prestigious Headmaster's Association.  The Association was organized in 1893 and consists of private school headmasters and secondary public school principals from all over the country.  Members are nominated for admission by current members and are admitted after consideration of their curriculum vitae by a selection committee.

Mr. Evangelista has served the Ramapo Indian Hills Regional High School District for 38 years: 16 years as a teacher, 12 years as Work-Study Program Coordinator, four years as associate principal at Ramapo High School, and is presently in his sixth year as Principal of Indian Hills High School.  Mr. Evangelista is also the fire director for the Passaic County Community College Public Safety Training Academy.

Mr. Evangelista belongs to the National Association of School Principals, the New Jersey Principal and Supervisor's Association, and the Bergen County Principal's Association.

Mr. Evangelista's community service includes 12 years as a former member of the Oakland Juvenile Conference Committee as well as active membership in the Pompton Lakes Volunteer Fire Department for 34 years, with 12 of those years as Chief of Department.  He is also the Emergency Management Coordinator in Pompton Lakes and is a trustee of the Pompton Lakes-Riverdale First Aid Squad.  He was honored as "Volunteer of the Year" by the Pompton Lakes Rotary Club, and is a Silver Card recipient from the Pompton Lakes Policeman's Benevolent Association.

Mr. Evangelista will be formally inducted into the Headmaster's Association at their 119th Annual Meeting in Lafayette Hills, PA in February of 2011.
