- Organization: Compassionate Care Hospice
Would you like to enrich someone’s life? Would you like to provide companionship to someone in need of company? If your answer is “YES”, Compassionate Care Hospice is currently seeking volunteers!
We are seeking volunteers to offer companionship and support to terminally ill patients. The volunteers’ role is
to be a supportive, caring person to our patients and their families in many areas of need. The volunteers schedule is flexible; most of our volunteers are working professionals and volunteer in the daytime, evening or on weekends as
their schedule permits.
All volunteers are placed with patients and facilities as close to their home or work as possible. Some of the ways that our volunteers help includes visiting patients to ease social isolation, calling caregivers and families to offer emotional support, reading, listening to music, playing an instrument, knitting, and even helping patients write life histories.
For individuals who are not interested in direct contact with patients but would still enjoy helping hospice patients we are seeking office volunteers to assist with light office
duties.
Volunteers with special skills, such as playing the piano, guitar, singing, Certified Massage Therapists, Reiki Practitioners, Certified Pet Therapy animals, or Licensed Beauticians are also needed.
We provide FREE training with easy and convenient scheduling to meet everyone's schedule! Compassionate Care Hospice has volunteer opportunities in Bergen and
Passaic Counties. If you would like to make a difference in your life as well as the lives of others please call, Kim Urquhart, Volunteer Coordinator, at 201-796-5600, or e-mail kurquhart@cchnet.net
